Be Willing To Turn A New Leaf
God warn remnant of Judah who remained in their land make dem seek refuge in Egypt; dem go dey punish if dem do so. Dem go prosper if dey remain in Judah land. God speak through Jeremiah and say,
“If you go still remain fo this land, then I go build you and i no go pull you down, and I go plant you and not pluck you up. Fo I relent concerning di disaster weh I do bring upon you. Make you no fear king of Babylon, weh you dey fear; make una no fear am,’ says the Lord, ‘because I dey with una, to safe and to deliver you from hin hand. And I go show una mercy, say he fit show una mercy and cause you make you return to your own land.’ “But if you say, ‘We no go dwell fo dis land,’ disobeying di voice of di Lord your God, saying, ‘No, but we go go to di land of Egypt where we no go see war, nor hear di sound of di trumpet, nor be hungry fo bread, and dea na dea we go dwell’— den make you hear di word of di Lord now, O remnant of Judah! Nah wetin di Lord of hosts talk bi dis, the God of Israel: ‘If you wholly set your face to enter Egypt, and go dwell there, nah hin bi say that sword weh you fear go overtake you fo di land of Egypt; di famine weh bi sey you dey fear go follow close after you fo Egypt dea; and you go die dea” (Jeremiah 42:10-16).
LESSON:
God required his children to be humble and accept correction in good faith. We are expected to follow instructions; respond to corrections whenever we make mistake, and make necessary amendment. Children of God are not expected to be boastful of their wrong doing, but be remorseful and turn a new leaf. Our ever gracious God is interested in our repentance; he loves to see us walking within his plans so that he can shower his goodness on us. If we meet the Creator's expectations, he will bless us in due time, and raise our banner in honor.
PRAYER:
Dear God, i beg give me humble heart to admit mistakes and make necessary korrections. Give me strength to be submissive to your instructions and dey follow dem well well, so that I go fit prosper in di land of di living. Make i remain under your eyes weh dey wosh me, and make qualify fo your blessings foreva. Fo in name oga Jesus Krist name i make my requests. Amen.
