Satan Will Always Confront Believers

Jesus Christ performed a miracle that all people (including his critics) could not overlook. The Messiah publicly formed two eyes for a blind man who asked for help. Meanwhile, despite the fact that Jesus’ miracle was too big to ignore, the Pharisees still summoned the courage to find an excuse to criticize him. The critics challenged Jesus that he ought not to perform any miracle on a Sabbath Day. The scripture reported,

“...When He (Jesus) had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing... They brought him who formerly was blind to the Pharisees. Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.” Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them” (John 9:6-7; John 9:13-16).

Lesson:

Who wants to please the critics? Not me! Critics would never see any reason to appreciate good works, but they will look for an excuse to criticize people who carry out good efforts. The bitter truth is that the devil’s followers would always criticize Christians. Their intention is to frustrate good efforts, but no child of God should pay attention to the devil! Instead of attempting to satisfy critics, we should remain focus and satisfy God at all costs. Our life-long goal should be to preach the gospel and do the will of God, in spite of any opposition. However, God reserves great rewards for his children who remain steadfast in the faith. Jehovah will decorate his faithful followers with glory and honor, and he will make their faces shine.

Prayer:

Dear good Lord, I am determined to satisfy you at all costs, without paying the devil and his followers any dime! Please anoint and give me the grace to stay focus and please you in my commissions. Do not let me allow evil people to distract me from my good works. Help me to effectively carry out the tasks you gave me – and let me carry them out to your satisfaction. Please prosper me on earth, and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
