Great Reward In Heaven For Those Who Served God
April 19 - Devotion
God encouraged Jeremiah to speak out against the nation of Israel for turning their back against him. God assured Jeremiah that his selection for such a noble task was not by accident, but it had been predetermined from inception. God said to Jeremiah,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord” (Jeremiah 1:4-8).
It is a good thing to serve God, and the effort has no regret. God's servants have the backing of their commander - Almighty God, and they are bound to succeed. The rewards of people that have a special commission for God's service are not limited to this world only, but they will last eternally in heaven. Therefore, people who take one special assignment or the other in God's vineyard should be courageous to do their best and satisfy God to the fullness, since their rewards will abide on earth and in heaven.
Dear God, I receive your grace and boldness to continue in your service. Please help me to keep focus, and let me serve to your satisfaction. Let my rewards be enriching and profitable for your kingdom. Let my labor of love not be in vain; count me worthy in your kingdom, and let my rewards abide. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have made my requests. Amen.
