God Is Incomparable
Israelites despise God warning sey make dem no run to Egypt fo refuge; dem konfront Jeremiah and claimed say di kreator don fail dem, fo that reason dem go do anything dey want, and no body fit stop dem. Di bible report Israelites' actions,
“Den all di men weh know sey dea wife don burn incense to other gods, with all di women weh stand by, plenty people great, and all di people weh dey live of Egypt land, in Pathros, answer Jeremiah, say: “As fo di word weh you talk to us fo di name of di Lord, we no go hear you! But we go certainly do anything weh kome out of our own mouth, to burn incense to di queen of heaven and pour out drink offering to her, as we don do, we and our papa, our king and our princes, in di cities of Judah and in di streets of Jerusalem. Fo then we get plenty food, we dey ok, and we no get problem. But since we stop to dey burn incense to di queen of heaven and to dey pour out drink offerings to her, we don lack everything and don dey consume by di sword and by famine.” Di women too say, “And when we burn incense to di queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, shey we make cake fo her, to worship her, and dey pour out drink offering to her without our husbands’ permission?” (Jeremiah 44:15-19).
Since Israelites don disrespect God and refused to obey hin instruction, God dey determine to punish dem beyond dea expectation. He promise say ego humiliate dem as dem choose to exile go Egypt. God say,
“Thus says di Lord of hosts, di God of Israel, say: ‘You and una wifes don speak with your mouths and fulfill wit your hands, say, “We go surely keep our vows weh we don make, to burn incense to di queen of heaven and dey pour drink offerings to her.” You go surely keep your vows and perform your vows!’ Fo dis reason hear di word weh di Lord talk, all Judah weh dey live inside land of Egypt: ‘Behold, I don swear by My great name,’ Di Lord talk am, ‘Say i no won hear make any man of Judah kall my name inside all di land of Egypt, say, “Di Lord God dey live.” Behold, I go watch over dem fo adversity and nobi fo good. And all di man of Judah weh dey di land of Egypt go bi consume by sword and by famine, until all of dem finish. Yet any small number weh escape sword go return from Egypt go to Judah; and all remnant of Judah, weh don go Egypt to dey live, go know wish person word go stand, Mine own or dea own. And this go be sign to you,’ Di Lord talk am, ‘say e go punish you fo this place, fo you to know sey my words go surely stand against you fo adversity.’ “Di Lord talk am say: ‘Behold, I go give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt to di hand of hin enemi and to di hand of those weh seek hin life, as I give Zedekiah king of Judah to di hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, hin enemy who dey find am to kill.’” (Jeremiah 44:25-30).
LESSON:
God great pass humans; hin nobi our age-mate, and make we reverence and honor Am. No human dey position to compared with God. As far as heaven great pass earth, naso God great and strong pass us. Jehovah get di attributes weh no fit dey compare with humans. He bi di highest authority fo existence; whatever Hin command stay, and no body fit question Am. Di fact sey di kreator don decorate human with beauty and honor no equate us with Am. God go remain God, and we go remain humans. Fo dis reason, since we sabi di creative work of God, everyone suppose dey adore Am, and give him due honor. Humanity must respect God; we must dey follow Hin instruction so that we fit prosper! The kreator go surely honor people weh choose to honor Am, but he go despise those weh despise Am and Hin instructions.
PRAYER:
