You Are Unbeatable
Mrs. Deborah Lapidoth was a prophetess and an Israelites’ judge that did what other women did not do during bible time. She encouraged Barak to mobilize a nationwide war against their oppressing neighbor country, and she also accompanied a fearful general to the battlefront. During the period, were no match for their enemies because they were few in numbers. In fact, Barak, the army leader, confessed his skepticism and insisted not to launch any offense – except Prophetess Deborah accompany him. Therefore to ensure Israelites’ deliverance, Deborah acted against their tradition and accompany Barak to war. The scripture reported, “Barak said to her,
“If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!” (Judges 4:8). Therefore, Deborah went to war alongside Gideon to defend their nation, and they won the battle Judges 4:23-24).
Lesson:
Believers must understand their positions in God as “unbeatable children of God!” We (Christians) have the Spirit of God residing in us, and we must consider ourselves to be unbeatable! We must understand that God’s presence is with us at all times, and his presence will remain with us in all situations. Meanwhile, God’s presence should not be considered recessive in believers' lives. We must publicize his strength during difficult situations. Also, we must stand up to defend his standard of righteousness when no one else would do. Of course, our pious efforts will provoke Satan the enemy to raise his ugly head, but whatever scenario he creates will yield God an opportunity to glorify his name. That is, God will appear during our challenging moments to prove himself strong. However, what else should be said? Should we say that God will fail people who stand up for his standard of righteousness? Absolutely not. Jehovah will surely defend his name in every situation to honor his children and glorify himself. Therefore, believers ought to maintain firm trust in God, and keep confessing his promises in every situation of life.
Prayer:
Dear God, please give me the courage to faithfully declare your standard of righteousness at all times. Empower me through your Holy Spirit to stay focus, and keep flying your banner of righteousness by sharing your gospel. Give me stubborn faith that will not cave in for worldly and sinful pressure. Also, do not let my faith subside to accept defeat during challenges, but let me keep confessing your righteousness until I triumph to testify to your goodness. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
