Stand Clear Of Ungodly Practice
Gospel ministers are directed to teach and lead people to be good stewards of Jesus Christ. The scripture stated,
“But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you” (Titus 2:1-8).
Lesson:
Christians are to live according to bible standards - and nothing more or less! Believers are required to stand clear of ungodly cultural practices as they surface and re-surface. As it is today, world culture and practices will not cease from changing, but believers must not be caught up in the same syndrome. People will demoralize God's laws to suit their selfish desires; believers must not be part of that! Thank God we have the bible, and its standard does not change! Therefore, we believers must adopt our culture from it! Since we are heavenly bound people, we must observe God's law to the letter, and we must ensure that we reference our practices from it. Heavenly God is a serious kind, and he would not change his mind as men do. Men may change, but God's requirement for heaven will not change! Therefore, anyone who desires to go to heaven on the last day must stand to his/her feet to comply with God's law.
Prayer:
Dear God, I am definitely not there yet! I am still unfit for your kingdom! I have compromised your requirements for heaven. I have followed "the multitude" to sin against you! However, I have decided to turn a new leaf: I repent from my errors; I ask you to forgive my failures and cleanse me. Please make me fit for your kingdom. I believe in your Son Jesus Christ, and I accept him as my Lord and Savior. From now on, please give me the strength to stand up for righteousness and do your will wholeheartedly - even when it would not make me popular. Please equip me with your Holy Spirit to stay fit for the second coming of your Son Jesus Christ. Count me worthy for heaven! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
