Pray For Leaders In Nations
Christians are required to pray for one another, and also pray for the government leaders. It is written,
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
Lesson:
Christians are to pray for government officials since they make decisions that affect our lives. We should pray for them to have a contrite heart to make good decisions that will positively impact our society. More importantly, we should pray for our political leaders to believe God and serve him - since godly fear leads to wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), Believers should pray that our leaders prioritize citizens' interests above their political ambitions. The spirit of selfishness and corruption must be subdued in the lives of our leaders - through prayers! God still answers prayers, and he will answer us. God will use our prayers to initiate a change that will stir our society in the right direction. With God on our sides, our streets can be saved again, and God's righteous standard can be upheld in the city halls.
Prayer:
Dear God, please, I pray for our leaders to have your fear so that they can make decisions that will positively impact our lives. Let our leaders have peace, clarity of mind, and the ability to govern us appropriately. Let our leaders have integrity and pursue righteousness so that our society can have progress. Please remove the spirit of self-centeredness, arrogance, and corruption from our leaders. Let them have godly conscience and integrity to lead our land into having abundant prosperity. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
