God’s Name Can Never Be Mocked
Daniel chose to give undivided attention to God, and his action infuriated his enemies. Therefore, they plotted to kill him. The scripture reported,
“So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God” (Daniel 6 4-5). Daniel's enemies were able to successfully cast him to the lion’s den, but God defended his servant. God shut the lions' mouths, and they could not hurt him. Consequentially, Daniel's opponents landed in the lions' den, and the animals feasted on them. It is reported, "(The king said) I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions” (Daniel 6:26-27).
Lesson:
God will defend his people, and he will not allow the enemies to mock his name in their lives. When we (believers) act in faith, God is glorified! Therefore, we must stay with our confession of faith, and practice Christianity in a way that will glorify Christ. Once we make God happy by demonstrating unwavering faith, he will honor us in return. However, the common fact about Christianity remains the same: Believers would face challenges in this present world. Satan and his forces will attempt anything to stop a believer from trusting God. However, faithful sons and daughters of God must remain committed to Christ - the Savior. The mixture of good and evil that we may face in this world is temporal. They would soon become things of the past. Believers in Jesus Christ must be courageous always since we know that our present afflictions are just for a short time. Time of redemption is on the way, and Christ will move us from this evil world to a perfect one - where no form of evil will exist. Believers must expect the second coming of Jesus Christ and be always prepared!
Prayer:
Dear God, please give me the strength to remain committed to my confession of faith in you. Help me to stand strong against any opposition that may challenge my belief. Let your Holy Spirit empower me to stand firm in faith so that devil can be put to shame and your name be glorified. Assist me in remaining fit for your second coming so that I can be a partaker of your benefits in heaven. Please keep me fit now and always! For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
